If I want self-esteem in my life, I must embody esteem-able acts. Be a man of integrity.
If you're like me, you SEE a picture before you take it. That's why I never leave home without a camera close at hand.
Some people spend a lifetime not knowing why they were put on this Earth. Teaching is not only a passion, it is who I am.
I am fascinated by buildings. There's always a story behind each one - the people who built it and those who inhabit it.
Taking 2 hours out of my life to suspend reality, engulfing myself with the character, the place, the story, the music, the heart. Yes.
Frequent floaters have their own unique perspective. Ports of call, wide open seas, and new friends from around the world. Yes.
I've always said that it doesn't matter how you get there - just get there. I don't need to sit in a pew to be in relationship.
I believe I can use the the written word to help me become a better person. These books, each in their own unique way, have had a massive impact on my life. Whether it was spiritual development, personal development or professional development – they have each brought a new perspective to me.

This book changed my life (seriously). I look at my ego in ways I never was able to before.

Putting “A Course In Miracles” in practical terms has been so valuable to me.
[Spiritual]
This book took everything I knew about God and turned it upside down.

One sick & twisted look at a Macy’s Santa Claus experience. You’ll laugh out loud.
[Professional]
Is there really a difference between a great manager and a great leader? YES!

I have had the great pleasure of traveling to 44 countries on 4 continents. I learned very quickly that the best education I could ever give myself is to experience this planet in a very personal way. My eyes were opened, my mind expanded and my beliefs challenged – all to help make me a better man.
This city was one of the biggest surprises I have ever had in all of my travels. I had two days to explore with my friend Aydan who lived there at the time and seeing this amazing city of over 17M people through a locals eyes was amazing. The sights, the sounds, the smells were overwhelming but wonderful!
Disfrute la Jornada! Enjoy the Journey has been a saying of mine for a long time. I discovered this amazing city quite by accident and fell immediately in love. The people, the architecture, the food - it's not one thing, it's a combination of all of them that make this one of my favorite cities.
Paris was my first city to experience in Europe. What a way to start, right? I have since been back many times and each time, I love exploring the romance, the architecture, the food and the views. I will never tire of this City of Lights.
This port city in Spain is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The internationally acclaimed painter and sculptor Pablo Picasso was born here and the culture found here is unparalleled. It quaint, romantic, accessible and just plain fun! I have sailed in an out a few times and can't wait to go back.
I've only been to Dubai one time, but I look forward to returning. This was the end of an 18-day cruise through the Suez Canal and probably my favorite cruise so far. What I learned about the Middle East on this trip changed me in profound ways. It opened my eyes to an amazing culture and people.
I had never had the desire to travel to Asia. Bangkok was a pleasant surprise. First, it's incredibly affordable, then there's the food, then there's the ancient architecture that will blow your mind. It was one of my most memorable trips. Ask me about my SARS experience. 🙂
Established possibly as early as 312 BC as the capital city of the Nabataeans, it is a symbol of Jordan, as well as Jordan's most-visited tourist attraction. On December 6, 1985, Petra was designated a World Heritage Site and is truly one of the most spectacular world-wonders I have ever seen. If you are ever in Jordan, it’s a MUST SEE!
Salzburg was a day trip while on an excursion to Munich. It was an easy train ride down and it's beauty is awe inspiring. Mozart was born here and his spirit fills this amazing city. I didn't get do the ``Sound of Music`` tour, but fully intend to go back one day and do it. This Austrian city has a flavor like none other.
I've been to this amazing Colombian port city more than once and each time I go I am taken back to a world from long ago. With two very distinct personalities (Old City & New City), this wonderfully quaint town offers visitors the opportunity to escape into their imagination.

"Thank you for conducting our association’s Strategic Planning retreat in Chicago. Your analysis of the state of the society was most impressive as was your ability to motivate the group in defining our goals. You met the challenge of guiding the council, a group of independent and expressive individuals, through a process unfamiliar to most of them with style and panache. It is quite clear that we could not have done it without you!"
Victor Darley-Usmar, Ph.D / Society for Free Radical Biology and Medicine
"What I thought wasn’t possible you made possible. What was just an idea triggered from a life long dream, your coaching took my vision and turned it into a real possibility. You instructed me how to take my idea and make a solid real business plan out of it. To a creative person this is like putting a door knob on a knobless door. Now it is my job to open the door."
Susan Hawkins-Miller, MA, CMP / Supervisor Meetings Boehringer-Ingelheim/Carlson Wagonlit
"You are truly the best at what you do. I wouldn't keep coming back to help me chart a future path for the associations we manage if you weren't. You're a great listener and master motivator!"
Kent Lindeman, CMP / Holland-Parlette Associates
"You are one of the very best facilitators I have ever worked with Rick. And I think you facilitated 5 or 6 board retreats I attended. You have a great ability to come to the table prepared and work tirelessly through an agenda to ensure we reach our goals, including knowing when to change course based on what's happening with group dynamics. You are a real artist."
