The Cycle of Thought

Have you ever considered just exactly what the cycle of thought looks like?

I have and somewhere along the road in my spiritual journey, I decided to see if I could deconstruct it to look at it differently than I ever had before.  Somehow, intuitively I knew I need to reframe my “default response” to one of the nature of God than one that centers around my selfishness and self-centeredness.

With 86,400 seconds in each day, there are 86,400 moments that my thinking is influenced by outside forces – words, sounds, images or actions of others – which trigger thought.  In each of those moments, I have a choice, to instantly identify with an EGO THOUGHT (self/false) or a GOD THOUGHT (spiritual/real).

I created this graphic to help me better visualize the possible steps to each option, my typical default response which is of the ego, or my atypical response, which is of God.

Follow the graphic and see if you can relate to any part of it and see if it helps you clarify for yourself what a change my look like in reframing YOUR default response.

Enjoy the Journey!
